I'm off tomorrow for a 2 day supersprint at Morgan Park. First one for the year, and first event since I teamed up with a mate (Chris) who wrote off his Datsun 1600 (510) at the end of last year. To cut a long story short, we came to an agreement to fit his engine and box to my car and dual enter the QLD Super Sprint Series this year. So we have a an extra 20bhp at the wheels and a closer ratio box in my 1200

So I'm hoping for big improvements in my times... Only problem is I also have to beat my own car too - with Chris at the wheel. Going to be very interesting...

Sounds like fun. But I hope your mate didn't crash his 510 in a similar "Supersprint" last year.

20 more HP and a better gearbox -- sounds good!

It is always hard to " hand over the keys " so to speak to somebody else to drive your car.
If the other person can drive equal or better than you can, its not so bad. It can also be a great opportunity to compare two different driving styles in the same car an anylise the different lap times and wear and tear on the car.

I suspect you will be faster early in the day as your car will feel no different (apart from extra hp and slighly different gear ratios) in terms of braking and cornering and your mate will get faster as the day progresses as a 1200 is quite different to drive than a 1600

Should be a great couple of days..........

yeah, should be great fun. He rolled his 1600 at the Noosa Hillclimb - the kind of place where you put one foot wrong and it's all over... I trust Chris - he's a very good steerer. he was a NSW state rally champ a few years back!

besides, there's plenty of run-off area at Morgan Park

I don't know where to start here. It's a 4lap supersprint from a standing start. The timing is accumulative for 4 laps, and we were using the short 1.1km
