Have to agree about coupes !! Got two and want more (can never have too many coupe panels! ) and they are an awesome little racecar. Twin 45 webers at full song and you wont go wrong !!!!!!!! Sorry boys, but save the late model turbo motors for the plastic cars they come from (lol). As long as it's a 1200 and it drives then your're in the game !! Cheers.

Yes very true B120dat, but like most poeple what 1200 you chose is your own choice. As I have a sedan and now I want a ute, but there are not many if any for sale in NZ. So I think that I'll be out of luck to fine a good one to call my own. So if there is anyone out there who knows of one please let me know!!!

godabaute LMFAO!!!!!!!! and if i buy a ute there is no way in hell that I'd sell it to you for a $1!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love a 1200 ute, but alas I have to be happy with a 1000 ute - the curves are much nicer.
Over the 2 years I have had it it has'nt missed a beat apart from when I did the head gasket and missed the Perth cruise coz I was brakin my back fixing it.
I'm wondering if the chasis on the 1000 ute is similiar to the 1200 as my seats are in bad need of replacement and any passenger I've had in it bangs their head on the back of the cab as soon as I take off :(
being 176 cms tall also helps with the comfort factor - but then there were'nt too many japanese over 6 ft in '74

I converted from a 1600 (hence the forum name) to a 1200 ute and haven't looked back.I think the 1200 be it a coupe or ute or wagon has more character than the 1600.
I get way more second looks in the ute than i ever did in the 1600
