Hi guys, recently I stumbled apon a completely rebuilt twin hitachi su carb and manifold setup for an A-series. The owner said I could buy it for $300 including a set of extractors. To me that sounds pretty cheap but I was wondering what you guys think. He said he spent close to $650 on it but he's gone turbo and no longer needs it.
Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.
Cheers, Shane

NO NO, you don't wan't them. They are, ummm, errr, way overpriced & they are, ummm, not right for your engine.

I'l tell what i'l do for you. You give me this fellows phone number & address, & i will contact him & chastise him for trying to do the wrong thing by you. No need to thank me, it's the least i could do.

"He said he spent close to $650 on it " who cares how much someone spent on sometin. By the time they come to sell it, it could be utter trash.
If the rebuild was recent it may be "worth it" it depends on what its worth TO YOU.
I personally wouldn't pay more than $200.

Thanks for the response guys. I think I'll definately go check em out and if they are still in good nik I should probably buy them. I may be able to knock him down a bit on the price anyway! He said I'd need an A-14 head or GX head for the ports to line up with the manifold. What cars came with A-14's ? Was it the later model Sunny ?
Thanks again for the help!
Cheers, Shane.

PS. Nice try dodgeman Seriously though, if I decide I don't want them I'll definatly let you know. Cheers

Here in the states they usually bring $250+ USD in good, working condition. And you can never find them here.

Throw in a decent set of extractors and I think it's worth it.

What's being a Kiwi got to do with it? I was shocked to hear in an earlier post that Converted was offering his Twin Weber 40's to Datman. I thought I had first option on them? Would you consider swapping them for a steering box that has been sitting in a wheelbarrow full of water?
