hi there,

As I have posted it before, I put an A15 engine for my Suzuki Jimny and one of my problem is that I do find it running hot...I have followed the correct valve clearance as of of you guys have sent me, it did run much smoother, actually the temperature goes up whenever I got stuck up lets say in a traffic but eventually goes down when I can get to run much faster, Im using a crank driven fan and now Im contemplating on repalcing it with an electric one....is this advisable? does a shroud on the fan have an effect the way it cools down the radiator? thanks again.....

a fan shroud is a good thing as it forces all the air to be sucked thru the radiator and not from the sides...putting a thermo fan on instead of a belt driven fan may also free up a few hp from your A15. If the radiator from a Jimny is much smaller than a radiator designed for an A15 you may need to look at fitting a bigger radiator.

A fan shroud will help a little. If that doesn't solve it, get a slightly wider radiator.

An electric fan probably won't cool better than the stock fan (but can save a bit 'o hp). Often electric fans have less cooling power.

I have a an A15 in my ute and the radiator that came with it was quite small (as in never seen smaller). It ran a little hot sometimes (esp on hot days and long uphills) but I swapped it for a slightly larger one, and it is great!

Good Luck!
