if a 1200 could put out 300kw at the tyres with an awesome torque curve and a high average power, and assuming everything holds up and nothing breaks, and has good traction all the way... what sort of 1/4 time could one expect?

worked CA or SR with HKS 3037... hasn't been done yet, but power output should not be a problem. just wondering if there is any physical clearance problems with such a setup?

I don't know if you are answering your own questions. But a kick ass engine in a 1200 with sorted rear suspension should do 10.5->12.0 You lose plenty of time in wheelspin and axle tramp..

I expect mine will break into the 11s.

Even 9s with the right setup.

Cheers.
Chris

write a list of everything that could break in the process.
now exect to break everything on that list if it's not "upgraded".
include things like leaf spring mounting brackets too, if the car squats with a wheel or two in the air while launching, expect to break a few.
but with 300kW? there are so many variables...gearing...traction...weight distribution...auto or manual...you get the idea...

there are three 1200s in australia that have run 8's

one had a fiat motor, one an evo lancer motor the other an FJ

8's are definately achievable, bu of course theres lots of mods required, the one that had the FJ is for sale for about 10k minus engine and box, would be a good start......

You forgot the blue 13BT 1200 coupe that went 8.15 recently at the Sydney Jamboree :)
All of those cars have had major chassis mods though...

300kw should get you into the 10-second zone easy with slicks and decent rear end setup.
I am hoping to race mine in two weeks time at Heathcote with somewhere around 230-245kw at the wheels, and am expecting low elevens *fingers crossed*

I will be going to Heathcote on May the 2nd, hopefully the weather will be ok :)

If you haven't raced before I'd recommend going to heathcote as it is more laidback, and you will also get a heap more runs for your money compared to calder
