Ok fellas - while we're on this subject, in the tech section it says this:

RS5W60A (Vanette) can be used for parts

What exactly does it mean by 'can be used for parts'? Will it not go into a 1200?

TC

I read that as column shift as opposed to floor change

American B210 and some JDM 210's with A15 I believe.
Ratios are 3.382, 2.013, 1.312, 1, 0.854

i had a look at some vanettes at pic-a-part last weekend and they are quite different because of the coloum shift and it didnt look like you could just change it to a floor shifter. otherwise i emagine everything else is the same.

we had a look at the colum shift boxes briefly and thought that a front wheel drive shifter mechanism and cables could be used to select gears, but never put any time into development,, anyone interested

Pitroad sells the back extension housing & stuff to convert 5-speed column shift to floor shift.

Ade, the 60L and 60A are both for A-series engine. Your transmission sounds like a winner, I wonder what vehicle it orginally came in? Maybe it was a competition part?

If you can get the serial number stamped on the top of the bellhousing flange area, post it here, and I'll add the info to the 5-speed article.
