I know that the SSS is an exclusive model of New Zealand, in Portugal we have some GX and there was also an exclusive version of Portugal, the S1. I am reconstructing my 4 doors sedan and I liked to give him a different soul than it is done in Portugal.

About the SSS I would like to know details on the equipment, the emblems, the used colors, the most possible of information, but in the internet I only find cars for sale.

Well I dont know that much about them.

All I know about them is this.......

Paint just had black sort of strips painted on the bonnet. As to colours used dont know.

Had a 5 speed dog leg gear box and twin carbs, extractors, cam work, head work. Someone here will be able to give you spec's. High back seats, centre console with tacho, SSS mags.

Thats about all I know about them.

You could try emailing nissan NZ and ask them about the SSS

Blair

The emblems........the "SSS" ones are like Hens teeth to find!!!!

The SSS had the standard 4 speed gear box and I don't think it had any head work - not sure though. Just 2x Dellorto 40mm carbs and extractors. All bolt on stuff.

This thread is very helpful:

New Zealand Datsun 1200 SSS

Cheers,
Ian.

Thanks for that Ian. I do think that they did have head work done to them.

All this talk about the SSS make me want to go buy the one sitting in a garge in town here!!! But the guy wants TOP dollar for it!

I have seen it but I might give him a ring over the weekend and see if he will let me tke some pics of it and if he does I'll post them here.

Blair
