Depending on how nuch meat you;ve had shaved off your head Nicolas, dont go silly with the boost without a head saver shim.
There are better ways to drop the comp, but with a just built motor the shim is the least hassle.

at the moment i'm using a 1mm deck plate and have got a 150psi compression.
so i'll have to drop the compression a bit more.

i just recently found out that an A14 would not be the best of the a series to turbochare couse of the strenth in the rods , the A14 has the weakest rods of all the a series if you do this convo i would suggest some rods out of a diffrent motor

hey guys, just thought id say, another good way to drop compressions is to do as im doing and have the tops milled down slightly, jeff taylor reckons its the best way for forced induction so im having it done to my s/c a15 should have it back this weekend or next ill be sure to take heaps of pics of my newly acquired aseries goodies.

that's really interesting, i've also heard this but i took no notice of it. it certainly doesn't seem to apply in practise though - i still reckon a turbo A12 is a rockin' little engine.

anyone out there running a turbo A14 had any 'rod failures?

I thought the a14 and a15 uesd the same rod but had a different crown height on the piston.

Hey A14 force, the setup u described is so simple, i love it and will do exactly that! with standard low compression of around 8.5:1 i reckon that would be fine for up to 1 bar yeah, and water injection, why not.
btw im currently having a turbo install done on a mitsi magna 3.0, but thats costin much bigger $, kind of a cruiser-sleeper project while datsun is my weekend toy. and i now know i can also do my datsun so cheaply, esp as there would be so many old wrx turbos around, as many get upgraded.
