I sincerely wish people would refrain from talking about politics on the internet. Especially on a Datsun site...

...but I know they never will...

Why? Do you really think you sound intelligent saying such ignorant and easily disprovable things? Do you even think before you type? Do you think at all? Or do you just get all your opinions spoon-fed to you by CNN?

FYI, they have found WMD in Irag. Deal with it.

Thanks for the compliments 10's & 20's,but I think, and the mayrity of people agree on this, those qualities describe Mr. Bush himself.
Before being American, or any other nationality, I am a human being, and I want to respect people all over the globe, regardless of their color or nationality. I do not think that the US, because of its condition of military superpower(because other than military, culturally, socially, it is far down on the list)...has the right to attack other nations because its unilateral, internal law thinks it can. All nations are equall, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Timor, Australia, France Germany, US, all are the same, and any nation which thinks(through its rulers) that is over and better than the rest is just allucinating. Sure, military power allows you to do what ever you want, but up to a certain point. If you are going to go around the world trying to seed panic and fear, you will get a response. In the same way a big bully can go around smashing skulls, the victims will get back at the bully, not on a one on one confrontation, but with a surprise, you could say cowardly attack on the bully. Once the bully is walking around unsuspecting, he will be mobbed, jumped by a group of guys, or shot at, attacked on his back with knives, you name it. But, who is the coward, the bully who uses his advantage to have fun and abuse others?...or the ones who resorted to that avenue in desperation, unable to confront the bully one on one? Unfortunatelly, terrorism is the weapon of the weak, and the US is failing to realize this, when you shake a hornet's nest, you will not scare the bumblebees, you will embolden them to attack you. It takes a dork to think that he can control bees by shaking and kicking their nest. Terrorism is controled by attacking it's reason for existence, which is inequality, poverty, lack of opportunity.Dismantle that, and terrorism disappears. By beating bombing, imprisioning(and sexually and other deviant behavior tortures, as seen in Iraq) you will not terminate terrorism, you are creating a monster. When the US (gov, not it's people)thinks that, because a terrorist attack, which was horrendous, it has a right to obliterate other areas of the globe, where countless inocents pay for the small number of bad guys, the US is going down to the level of such demented people(terrorists), legitimizing the same behavior in return, because now, terrorists will act in the same way, attack the US with no mercy, good guys pay for the actions of the US goverment, our goverment has dragged us down to the level of the terrorists.
I lived in South America for years, and terrorism is the product of poverty, of hopelesness, attacks happened on the cities, but I never saw, heared nor ever knew about the armies obliterating the Andes mountains and killing everybody with disregard to human life, that would be an idiotic proposition. Terrorism is to be defeated once the sources are destroyed, people that have prosperity do not engage in such behavior. Fanatics and the like appear as a response to insensitive and arrogant goverments.
Believe it, or do not believe it, if the US continues on this path(with Mr. Bush), we are going to get into deep dark days, you could be a black belt, IIIdan karate man, expert in 5 kinds of martial arts, in the prime of your life, but you are no match against a cloud of tiny, minuscule, angry bees.
Iam not here to insult nobody, is up to you to pledge alliegiance to a wacko, or open your senses and realize you are fighting your own kind, we are all humans, we are a big neighborhood.

US policies around the globe are something to meditate about, you would be surprised to find out what the US does abroad, helping bad goverments attacking others, supplying weapons(Saddam himself, as well as panamenian Noriega, and countless others, were once US allies)and creating animosities and conflict, in the believe that the US will benefit from it. I got to be responsable towards humanity before any alligiance to any flag. If your leader is wrong, you do not have to follow, we (US) have no right to do upon others what we are so scared off happening to us. I do not think I am ignorant, I am inteligent enough to know when to admit something is wrong.
The leadership of this country is going head down toward oblivion, I do not have to follow, I am not cattle. There is two kinds of people, the ones who think they are part of the human race, and the ones who think they are something special. There is no room in this world for the later ones.

Have a nice weekend._________

Actually, the latest opinion polls have his approval ratings at 46-48%. If the election were held tomorrow, he would win. If you really think that many people in the US disagree with the President, you might be in for a rude awakening. Try leaving the left coast every once in awhile and see what us people out here in fly-over country think.

FYI, there are more of us than there are of you.

The fact that you can even say these inflammatory things without fear of government reprisal proves that this is the best country on earth. FYI, in Iraq they might have only cut your hands off for speaking against the sitting government. It's likely they would have done much worse.

That, my friend, is what there is no room in the world for.

The Road and Track issue that tests the '71 1200 lists the mileage as 28.6 mpg, if I recall correctly. Where did you see that 38~ mpg?

If memory serves, my '80 210 (B310) was rated at 36~ mpg?

When i was "thoroughly enjoying" my 1000 sedan, it would return mid 30's mpg anytime i drove it. If i was being sensible, & kept cruise speed avarages down to between 65 & 70mph, it would return 40+ mpg.
I drove for pure economy once [just once] when i drove to Germantown [Holbrook] in NSW for the Ultralight fly in. I kept it down to speeds between 50 & 55mph. The little treasure rewarded me with a fuel concumption of just over 52mpg. It really is true, DATSUN SAVES.

Please remember that this is for an Imperial gallon, which, at 4.54609 litres, is slightly bigger than the US gallon.

This was with the big bore 1200 GX & 5 speed remember. I ran a 3.9 to 1 diff & 205x60x13 rear tyres with a 1 to 1 top gear.

For the metriphiles.
65 to 70mph = about 110 to 118kph
55 to 55mph = about 80 to 88kph
52 mpg = 18.26 killometres per litre or 5.48 milk bottles per hundred thousandmetres.

10's & 20's
The US is "one of" the best countries on earth. We don't do too badly either.
For the record, Australia is the only country to have fought alongside the US in every major engagement, that the US has been involved in, over the last 110 years.
I was saddened to learn that the US could not spare a single serviceman when we asked for an assist with the multi national peace keeping force in East Timor. I believe that the US loaned us an un-crewed boat instead. Thanks a lot.
