Why? Do you really think you sound intelligent saying such ignorant and easily disprovable things? Do you even think before you type? Do you think at all? Or do you just get all your opinions spoon-fed to you by CNN

MATE, this is what off topic is for.

We don't get your consorship infected ,brainwashing gobledegook "news" programs in New Zealand . Apart from the weather (which is usauly wrong anyway) I don't watch any news.

I'm not attempting to sound intelligent, and I couldn't give a flying fukc whether or not my spelling is good enough for you.
Anyone who has met me, ( and talked Dattos) could tell you that I am quite intelligent (even if I do talk too fast, and am a little bit eccentric).

T & T, I ask you this.
Did you feel great sorrow, at the tragic loss of innocent human lives on sept 11?

Now assuming the anwser is "yes", do you fell any sadness when you hear reports of women and children being murdered by US forces in Iraq?
Not to mention, the alleged atrocitiys committed against prisoners (MOST of whom are being held Illegally) at US run "CONCENTRATION CAMPS" .

If not, then you are one of the poeple that Jamie is Talking about.

I am a human being also. I respet ALL human life. I have a real sence of whats FAIR and JUST.
I am almost completely desensitised, so I shead NO TEARS for dead Iraqis, the same way I shead NO TEARS for dead Americans. But in my reasoning I figure any US combatant who Dies in the middle east shouldn't have been there in the first place.

I generally take little intrest in politics, dont read the paper much at all and hardly ever watch the news in genera,l for various reasons, but put simply because it's all a rigged puppet show really

but...

if you think Bush is a good leader for whatever reason you have got to be totally illuded

i mean like i said i take little intrest in politics, but still i hear so many things about that one man's life, of which any way would have me voting for anyone else really

i could list them, but i think most of them come from Michael Moore's publications anyway. i'm talking about some pretty scary facts

i wish Aus had a choice when it came to helping out US but unfortunately i dont think we do, it's basically just like the sticker i say on the back of someones car today "Howard, Bush's Bitch", (Howard being our prime minister)

Don't believe everything you see in an ad. Especially one trying to convince you to buy a Datsun.

I still recall the actual EPA rating being much lower.

1. If you want me to understand you, or see things your way, please only use actual English words. It would make it alot easier to understand you.

2. Micheal Moore's books and movies are not filled with "facts". They are statements that are obviously bent to match his political viewpoints.

YES, but they are TRUE statements.
Just like, "datsuns are totally awesome cars"

UNLIKE anything George W says "I stand by any quotes, or misquotes ,that I may, or may not have made"?????????
Would you belive the dumb son of a bitch actually said that!

Let's see.
Quote:
The Environmental Protection Agency in mid-1973 named the Japanese-made Datsun 1200 the most economical car sold in this country, based on their gasoline mileage test ... All the EPA figures were way under ours and also those of Motor Trend
Mechanix Illustrated

Note that the EPA in 1973 gave out combined ratings, not highway ratings like the 37.8 listed in the ads. I used to get a measured 42 highway over scores of trips, but my speedometer was off 10%. So corrected, that's 38mpg. Stop and go, driving like a maniac, I got 27 (corrected).

The later sunnys were even better. From the EPA web site:Quote:
1978 B210: 36 city, 48 highway, 40 combined
1979 B310: 35 city, 47 highway, 39 combined

I care if you spell properly

Would you take a book seriously if it was full of spelling mistakes? Probably not.

I do agree that an online forum is not a book.

So if you provide solid technical facts, with plenty of spelling mistakes Then it's ok

If we speak rubbish and have loads of spelling mistakes, it's difficult for me to justify the effort to read whatever it is.

This really is off-topic, and quite off-thread.

Just to get back to the original topic of the thread. I was also quite disturbed by bighatmat's "orange man" avatar. I think this dude is a guru from india, I'm certain I saw a fridge magnet with his face on it, last time I went to India.

As a wise man once said...Go the DATTO!

Actually the topic was Mat's 'avatar of the week(?)' when it was made from the "Datsun Saves" gas can advertisement. He has sinced changed the avatar.

I think this ad was run at the beginning of the gas crisis of 1973-1974.

No, in fact I would not believe he said that. Unlike some people, I don't believe everything I hear second-hand.
