it might be sucking air from the manifold when you put fuel down the carby it will run rich and start run till it leans out and stalls

It's a fuel problem. Even if there was a vacuum leak, you could still get it started and run it by manipulating the choke and accelerator pedal.
Quote: When I've tried putting in petrol into the carb manually, she starts for a while then cuts off again. Take Dodgeman's advice: Remove the air cleaner, shine a flashlight down the carb, and move the throttle by hand. Does it pump a smooth, consistent flow down into the bore? Or is it a weak, trickling flow (or none at all)? If the fuel bowl is spot-on, then the fuel pump is working good enough to start the engine. The fuel level should come to the dot on the window, no higher, no lower for good running.

to digress, will an a15 fuel pump bolt in and run in the later b210 style a12 or are the rocker arms different length once more.

its not sucking air through the gasket in between the carby and manifold?
that would make it run a bit lean then when u tip the fuel down it would even it up until the fuel ran out..?

Thanks for the advices Guys.
Finally found the fault after doing a compression test. And guess what? NO COMPRESSION> It was a blown head gasket. Changed it, and now shes back on the road again. Now, however, I have to fine tune the carbi You can view topic.
