i am just putting a new head gasket in my A14. i was wondering if anyone new the torque settings for the 3 stage tightening thing your sposed to do with the bolts, also when i took the bolts out i noticed that one is about a cm longer than all the rest, i was wondering if anyone knew if this will make a difference??

yea it has a ring around the number on its head right? it goes in the middle, cant remember what side though, but you will tell as if you put it in the wrong hole it will hit the bottom with about a cm of thread left ;)

make sure you lubricate the headbolts before you put them in so you get the best clamping force possible from them

A12 and A14 bolt torque is different. The newer A12s might use the same torque, but not the Datsun 1200 A12.

two more questions, is there any set torque i need to tension the rocker bolts to and do i need to reset the gaps with a feeler guage if i havent touched the screm/bolt thing above each rod??? if i do does anyone know the gap and how i do it, also wat is the dizzy point gap on an a14?
