I just receveived the Nissan A14E "EGI" (EFI) manifold in the post from Japan. It came from Yahoo Auctions. It is complete except for wiring harness and control box. I'm hoping I can fit older Nissan wiring connectors and box to it. (maybe 200SX (sylvia) or N10 Pulsar, though this is a port-injection manifold, 4 injectors).

It has a GX-style exhaust manifold, with dual 1.5" exhausts! This is good, because my muffler is needing replacment, I can now fit a custom exhaust.

It looks like it will make a nice performance street system. The secondary is large with no apparent restriction. The primary is a small venturi, so throttle response & economy should be good. Compare to the standard carburetor:

Primary venturi:
Carb - DCG306: 20mm
Nissan EGI A14E: 18mm

Secondary:
Carb venturi: 26mm
EGI bore: 35mm

I'm hoping to fit this to my A12.

Thats good news dd.
You are another member who will soon see the benifets of EFi on a little A series.

I hope the installation goes smoothly. Keep us up to date and tell us about the performance/driveability of the new set up once it's completed and mapped.

Welcome to the EFi club

so its an early 'electronic carb' style EFI system, rather than the typical multipoint system which is what most of us imagine when EFI is mentioned?

It's multi-point, port-injected (4-injectors). It has a single throttle body like the majority of modern engines, not four throttle bodies.

ahh, cool. You had me worried for a minute there!

looks like the perfect start for a turbo system to me... I can't help it, I went for a ride in a R32 GTR Skyline on Saturday... I can't adequately describe how good these cars are, so I won't try. Just beleive me, they are simply awesome!

Sunny's Injected A-engine

He's remove all the non-necessary gear (EGR valve, emissions control vacuum switches etc).

Here you can see the fuel rail and the rising rate (?) fuel regulator. The fuel regulator is hooked directly to manifold vacuum.

Note the coolant holes below the ports. Only one side flows. The other side is a solid casting, and coolant flows out a heater hose on the front end of the manifold. I think I might be able keep mine heated on the non-GX A12 by feeding it in the vacuum switch port (back end of manifold), and out the heater hose port (in other words, not using the coolant ports in the head.

Good stuff. DD how many $$$ ( universal = bones ) did this end up costing? Slowly but surely the datto population is keeping up with todays technology. Good stuff.
Cheers Steve

actually that little doo-dah there doesn't look like a rising rate reg.
it just holds the pressure inside the fuel rail to the manufacturer's required fuel line pressure.
there's one similar, but a shade smaller, on my 1UZ and holds the pressure steady at 42psi.
