The Ute diff centre is a lot bigger, the axles are larger diameter, the width is the same. The spring mounts are the same, the handbrake mount and balancing mechanism is different, the shock mounts are different. The brake drums are the same, as I believe the backing plates are really similar (I just used the whole Ute diff in my Sedan, when it had a Ute diff)

And of course I believe you !

Seriously ,You can put a ute diff in a sedan without a problem ,any mods required ??

You make up a square plate to move a sedan/coupe/wagon handbrake mechanism (The point on the back of the diff housing).

But if you use a Ute handbrake mechanism (cables etc) then it fits fine.
The Ute Diff has a larger diameter diff tube, so it uses larger U bolts. You could also elongate the holes on the Sedan or Coupe bottom plate.

I also recommend using 180B Wagon Drums.

for you guys that really know your diffs, i got a good puzzle, as i can't figure out what diff i have in my ute. I know this:
-its a borg warner
-its got disc brakes
-modified mounting points where the springs sit.
-modified handbrake arrangement
-not too sure on this, but when i replaced the bearings, i got standard '74 datto ute rear wheel bearings, and they fit spot on. (i think '74 utes came stock with the h145???)
I thought it was a 120y diff, but they don't come with discs?

Don't forget, 1971-1974 utes have the same H145 rearend, same as the coupe/wagon/sedan.

Also, the shock mounting points ... are not part of the diff housing. They are separate bolt-on adapters.
