i was just wondering, what model datsun would be good to take drifting, because i wouldnt mind giving drifting a go one day but id also like to have a little datto to do it in,on a drifting site they recomend that a datsun would be pretty good for driftin but i thought id ask you guys as yous all own datsuns so id see what yous think about that idea?

im no pro but id say a 1200 coupe with a CA or SR... the only problem is that they will come around real easy being short wheel base so maybe umm a 1600? but if i was u id go a 1200 coupe ( im not a fan of 1600's) yeh so 1200 coupe stiffed shoks... a CA or SR and that would be a mean old skool frifter

I wouldnt mind a 240Z with a RB26DETT, yeah old school look with potent turbo donk, RWD ofcourse. I think Datto drifter, I spose we have to leave out the DR30 Skyline. I just have this wacked idea of dumping a RB turbo in one of them, tuff as guts! Surely a six can fit in where the FJ went? Its that PJ racecar thats got me excited again! Im sure this has been done before, especially in the drift scene, anyone know of a site with pics of such a conversion?

180SX SR20DET...with a big wing to curl those smoke trails with the trailing turbulance!!!

510... no contest.... INDIPENDANT REAR SUSPENTION... not a solid axel like the 1200.
1200s make an awesome drag car though, "they are hella lite"

... but of corse, 1990 240sx, with sr20det, will drift as good as anything... .
also keep in mind the ae86 ,,, "toyota carrola" But i dont like those at all, but if you throw on side drafts and chuck the efi, you can create a monter.... but the perfect canvas for a drifting monster is the 69thru73 datsun 510,, "tons and tons of motor and diff, swap possibilitties""

most R30s had straight sixes from the factory.

1200s and Zcars (proper Z cars - ie 2 seaters) have almost identical wheelbases!

yeah, the 1600's crap semi trailing arm geometry would be ideal for a situation where you don't want rear end grip

you say to keep this car in mind which is considered in japan as one of the best drift cars ever produced and has both a solid axle and short wheel base.

i am sorta laening towards a 1600 with a SR, they look pretty good and my brother loves them so he might help me work on it.

Hey Nis15L, I was going to say the same thing.

I'd rather this guy went and drifted a late model car. (something less than 20 years old).

Anyone who likes to smash up their datto is a bit of a bad boy/girl according to me.

Drifting is only fun because of the risk of crash.

If your life needs more risk..go get a second girlfriend. Then it will be filled with more sex and more risk. What more could an adrenalin junky man desire.
