thanks for your help. One last question: Do you run the fuel return line into the surge tank or fuel tank or its doesn't matter.

regulator to the surge tank to keep the bugger full. The carbon canister goes back to the low pressure main tank. (If you run it).
Then have a connection at the top most section of the surge tank and have that return to the main fuel tank, this removes air bubbles from the surge tank, ensuring maximum fill level. Chris

I Totaly agree with datodude, re Holley Blue pumps. I had a new pump seize, (by new 1st race meeting running this pump) lean out the motor and destroy a piston. The New Zealand agents tried to tell me that both Holley Red and Blue Pumps are not designed to run on Race Gas. On speaking to a few other racers who have experienced the same problems it would apear that the brushes are the weak link. If you are running a Holley and it is hot to touch, i would replace it. I have Changed to Facett pumps one to feed the surge tank and another from the tank, and have had no problems since.
