I'm embarking on an engine swap this weekend.

An A15 from a Aust Sunny Wagon 1981 I think, into my 1200 Coupe.

I've read the tech sections and search the forums a bit (so I know about the crossmember reinforcements).

My big concern now is about wiring.

Coil, starter, etc...

Should I just cut all these wires to get the engine out of the Sunny, or better yet up to where should I try and save the wiring to make the easiest wire up job in the 1200.

(I hope this info isn't readily available in the forum - I did spend a bit of time looking for it)

Regards,
Mildman

I would use the 1200 wiring. But some differences:

- the alternator will fit on different side
- the auto choke needs a wire (see the carb article)

If you can get the B310 harness, it could be useful.

Before you pull the a12 out of the coupe, Label all the wiring with some packing tape and a texta. When you go to wire up the A15 this should make life a bit easier. You'll probably have to extend the wires that run to the alternator, as this will be on the opposite side of the engine on the a15,
good luck.
