rallycar,
I'm looking forward to seeing your coupe in action too. Go the Datto steveo, next hillclimb is Sept 5. Hopefully my car will be ready for that one too. All you need it to join a CAMS afilliated club, fill in the CAMS L2S licence form, and you're away. Warwick District Sporting Car Club are a great bunch of people out your way, and there's plenty of other clubs around. CAMS website would probably have a list (www.cams.com.au). MG Car Club own and operate the MtCotton Hillclimb. www.mgccq.org.au and you can get entry forms and regs from their site. Their membership fees are probably the cheapest around, and you don't have to own an MG to be a member. Besides, it's good to support a club that does so much hard work for local grass roots motorsport. You also need some basic safety gear for the car, like a 2nd bonnet fastening mechanism (some people who don't want to fit bonnet pins use a belt or straps), a fire extinguisher, 2 throttle return springs and a few other little things that your club will explain to you. CAMS send you a bulletin containing those requirements but that will take a while to get to you. Obviously you'll need a helmet as well, but you don't need a race suit - just non-synthetic ankle to wrist to neck clothing. Most of us just wear jeans and a long sleeve T shirt. There's a whole heap of other club level motorsport events around as well. The autocross track at Ipswich is awesome fun - its a dirt racetrack that's graded perfectly smooth before events. Morgan Park, which you've probably been to, run great sprint events. And lots of others too. You can view topic.
