I would think not with a 3/4 race cam, which is old 1960s technology. To get 100hp/liter wouldn't you need a full race cam, or a modern camshaft (high lift, fast opening)?

if you slip in the L18 crank and pistons (2mm overbore), with a fairly serious cam, comp, big valve/port head, and twin sidedraughts you can get there.

I don't know where you are (fill in you're profile), but this link for Tighe Cams in Brisbane will help on cam specs http://www.tighecams.com.au/profiles3/nissanlseries.htm. You want something like the 525C (76 Works) grind. Old technology isn't all bad...this is a works rally grind from the 70's

i would turbo an L16 for that kind of power.

L16s have an almost perfect 1.8:1 rod/stroke ratio - which means they love to rev and do so more reliably. sure they're low on torque compared to an L20, but add a turbo and you're adding torque.

torque x rpm = horsepower.

you already have the rpm ability, so add the torque with a turbo and the rest writes itself....well....with a bit of research, time and fabrication it'll write itself...

i personally would lean to a high CR / low boost application with an L16, but that's not to say you won't enjoy a low CR / high boost application, just adding another option for you to consider.

In barbados those engines are hard to find
the only lseries that u can find is the l16
that is why i am working on a l16
but would love to find a bigger L series 4 cyl

can the con rods from the l24 fit the l16
because that would be a simple way to raise
the compression
