turbo or non turbo... in nsw would be harder for turbo.

hardest part would be the crossmember in the front for mounting and also a stronger diff.
depends on budget but around $5000 to do a good job mechanically and legaly

ive researched this topic heavily bcas it has always and always will be on my to do list. the 13B fits in perfectly with very little work to do and give alot more power
keep us posted on how it goes bcas rotary rock and 1200 ute are the perfect body for them

i have been to see Jim at Roccos performance about the same conversion and was told that it cannot be engineered in NSW even in NA form!

but then i supose it also depends on wether you know an engineer or not who will pass it for you... anything can be done, but getting it legal is another issue.
ring some engineers and ask before you do anything!

if you find someone to pass it let me know!

I have seen a rotary in an 85 ute here in QLD, it was set up for track so I don't know if its registered or engineered but I can find out.

No worries, however I was only looking at putting a 12A in, i dont mind having power but I guess you can have to much. Ill keep you informed on how I go.

I'll give Motoworx a ring, thanks for th info.

I know I can get it engineered in ACT and Vic. I live in Vic, so I'll give it a go.

Cheers for all your info

my mate had an orange 1200 sedan with black speed stripes with an aspo 12a in it. he was told he couldnt get it engineered in nsw becasue they classify rotors outputs as double the actual output. for eg. 12a being a 2.4L and 13b being a 2.6L. dont know how true that is but if it is true it goes back to the old weight x 3 for aspo output and its a no no in that aspect.
