Ok Ok.. so these E15's don't seem so bad

I'll retract my insulting statements from earlier. You can now quote me as saying "The E15 is a great engine for many applications".

But you must have at least chuckled at my hairdressers comment

As for Barbie girls components, I was extending on my previous misconceptions about the E15 being a little girl's motor

I stand educated at least.

We've documented my misconceptions, which would be normally fairly common for FWD -> RWD transplants.

Cheers,
Chris.

you could always use a delco. most (all..?) of the N12 sensors are compatible with the delco, funny considering most of the sensors etc were carried over to the N13 pulsar / camira.

i have seen an E15 using a delco, but i'm not sure what was involved. it might be worth your while looking into it - more maps and tuning ability than a MoTeC for the cost of a fuel only microtech!

or if you're really into building your own you could look at the megasquirt systems...

I take partial offence at that Feral But we are all allowed our own opinions.

Dont be offended, I just like them as I have had a bit of experience with building these engines and have come to like them for the amount of grunt you can get reliably from them.

Find a RWD gearbox to fit on the E15 easily.
My 63A gearboxes fit straight up with one simple welding and drilling mod.

Find one that makes more than 200kW@wheels in any form, and seriously find common parts to maintain this engine. It's been well "EOL'ed" by everyon

I think the Murphy racing developments ET Pulsar would make 200Kw at the wheels.

I just rebuilt one this week and didnt have any problems with parts availability for quality components.

Not to mention dizzy problems, and "barbie girl components"

As I pointed out, forget the optical drive dissy as its subject to timing scatter from the drive mechanism lash.

What Barbie components are we talking about (Wolf, Haltech, Motec or Autronic )

Yes and fast ones at that From Full Boost fastest FWD non 4wd

Now it takes a very good SR or CA in a 1200 to do an 11.9 and what easy availble of the shelf components are you going to use to do that ???

why does the e15t seem to get no respect re: swaps

I think its just an image thing. An E15 simply isn't trendy enough. If you can't say it's SR'd or CA'd, it just ain't cool dude.

I think it would be a great swap. The dissy is a bit inconvenient, but it certainly isn't a show-stopper.

umm, someone hasn't been listening...

as feral said, there's plenty of ET Pulsars running very quick times with these engines, and they've got the "wrong wheel drive" disadvantage!

Any local parts shop? Everyone still lists this engine as far as I know. What's no longer available?

Hall effect crank angle sensor on the crank pulley. A good aftermarket ECU (Wolf, Haltech, Autronic, Motec) with individual cylinder coils. An S14 T25 turbo with 0.8 compressor housing and your away. Should be good for 250 hp??? Lotsa bucks though but would be very nice in a 1200 or sunny with a 63A box

I have seen an electramotive CAS programable ignition kit on an E15 with webers.

They just dont do their home work.
The engines are extremely reliable and the red rocker versions from the B11 sentra piazza coupes go really well with a bit of massaging.
