I have 2 1200s that can be considered "cars" rather than assembled parts. I drive my stocker 4dr sedan backwards and forward once every couple of months and let it idle until it warms up. I should get Club rego..I'll chase that up after my holiday.

My project 4dr Sedan has only been driven by pushing it.. at least the steering is connected now so I can steer it.

I hope to join you "drivers" soon

Currently gathering all the parts for a CA18DET conversion and engine rebuild.

Your point is well taken & you probably caught me when i was tired & i have had a bad day at work. I shouldn't take it out on others.
Yes, i am a pedantic son of a bitch, but unfortunately, thats who i am. I take things at face value when they are written, quite literally, & i try to always write, & say, just what i mean. Call it a weakness.

Anyway, we have thread for all the other models & i am glad that you listed your fine car in there.

The 1200 is the glamour/ icon model in amongst the smaller models, but Datsuns great lineup was not limited to this model alone, as many of us know, & like me, you obviously know it too. More power to you.

I have a 71' Coupe with a CA18DET installed, With a wicked sound system and a whole lot of boost!!!
(Well not really all that much boost, still running in the engine)
But I may come into possesion of a 1200 ute in teh near future.

Cheers

It obviously does.
The question directly asked about 1200's, but makes no reference to them being stock, or otherwise, so why are you mentioning it? As this is a Datsun 1200 site, it's reasomable to assume that the question refered to Datsun 1200's This is a specific model of Datsun car, or didn't you know that? I don't care if it is fitted with a Detroit diesel, it is still a 1200 "model" Datsun, so lets drop the red herring about other engines, shall we.
If you want to include other stuff, non 1200 stuff, then where do you stop? That's not a rhetorical question, I'm asking you, Where do you stop?

Does one pay attention to the Marque, but ignore the model part of the question? It would be hypocritical to be "precise" with one part of the question, but to ignore the other part.
Are you a hipocrite?... I hope not.

A Duesenburg is not a 1200, neither is my Dodge, so,... either words have meanings,.. or they don't.
If people want to be downright slack about the wonderfull language that we have, then so be it, but please don't bore it up me when i get it right. It irritates me.

Kindest regards
Chris
P.S. I have given you the reason you might want to respond in kind, in the complementary thread to this, & i thank you for listing your Kuup in there.
More power to the "other Datsuns"

does it matter dodgeman?
or does everything have to be ever so precise with you, if you read thru i havn't read of really any stock standard 1200's in here so whats the difference. you might as well call all of these cars with CA18DET's and SR20DET's that they are silvias or 180sx's because of their engine.

who cares dude they are all datsuns. get over it

oh and another thing my engine plate is stamped as a 1200 coupe. so i guess i do belong in here ill take a photo if you like
