Woohoo. It's good to see so many are owners of Datsun /Nissans of other models. All Datsuns are good, some are even great.
As for myself, heres a little list. Currently owned 1968 Datsun 1000 four door [being converted to components] This was my driver as well as my toy from mid 1980 1980 Datsun 200B wagon. This is my street hack / workhorse. 1970 Datsun 1000 coupe. This is my new toy Previously owned 1984 Bluebird wagon [ replaced by the 200B] 1973 Datsun 1200 ute [yeah yeah, i know, this is a non 1200 thread buit i gotta give team-Dat a fair chance to respond] 1968 Datsun 1000 two door sedan. This is the green one in my photo album. Work cars 1981 Bluebird sedan [Telecom] 1984 Bluebird wagon [Telecom] Other cars No.1 son has a '87 Skyline [well, it's a "sort of" Datsun] No.2 son has a very nice original Datsun 120Y four door sedan.

apart from my 1200 coupe, I have:
82 MQ Patrol SWB L28 petrol - the old tow car. Its a good old bus - got me and the coupe to Bathurst and back last year, but it should come with an optional chiropractor and dentist...and fuel tanker... its for sale. 89 GQ Patrol 4.2 diesel - the new and improved tow car/everyday car. Its like driving your living room 83 HR30 Skyline coupe L20ET 6cyl EFI turbo - project car. I've repaired the rust, and have it in primer ready for paint. Picked up some 16*7 and 16*8" Rays 3pce spun alloy wheels for it, and have an L24 waiting patiently in the corner If I was to list all my previous Datsuns we'd be here for a while...

I've got a 1963 Austin Healey Sprite, but before I get kicked out as a member it's saving grace is that it has all a12 running gear.
a12 bottom end - standard except for flat-top pistons. a14 head with a custom made manifold for a single 40DCOE weber (only can fit one in there). The car is 100% reliable (did I just jinx myself there or what?), weighs in at around 550kg's all up and looks (almost) standard from the outside. I'm not accepted too kindly by the Sprite/Midget club guys - I've put a Jap engine in a English car after all, you should see how upset that makes them... especially when I tell them that I did it because the a12 is the better engine, faster, more reliable... Anyway - I hope I have not offended anyone with my presence in this discussion, but a cars heart is it's engine - and my cars had a heart transplant for the better.

Many have a 1200, or one of it's small brethren, as a toy, but also have another, perhaps non iconic model, that serves the important roles in life. My 200B wagon will never be a cult car, but it still starts every time i turn the key, & it not only gets from A to B, but back again, every time. No glamour or cult status, but cost effective, reliable transport. That's what Datsuns were all about. Show your pride indeed.

Is this a Bug Eye model? Datsun power,... for those who want to win in the pommycar crowd. [For our US friends, Pommy = Limey = British. Its derived from the letters P.O.M.E. meaning "Prisoner of Mother England", & is pronounced "pommy" All the convicts were British.] P.S. The Jag blokes don't like Chevys in their Jags, but can not come up with a respectable reason not to do it. They hate that.

'79 Datsun 210 (ok is that considered a 1200?? I guess not)
'72 Datsun 240Z, in the process of being rebuilt. So far underside and inside sandblasted, suspension rebuild complete (all parts sandblasted, wear components replaced including bearings, struts, springs, bushings, brakes, etc, all painted with POR-15 and topcoated black). Every nut, bolt and washer under the car has been replaced with new Nissan parts. Haven't had much time for it since we moved into our first house :( It's gonna be a LONG project. '03 Nissan Murano SE - my wife's SUV anyway. not exactly a Dat I know but close... Used to have a '98 Sentra - kinda miss that car actually. You can view topic.
