#1 Don't do what I did.
A14force Posted on: 2004/8/11 7:18
A bloke I met gave me a 1200 rolling shell. He had cut out repair patches for his other car. I have just finished stripping all the reuseable parts. Instead of paying $25 , or whatever it is To get it taken away, I elected to cut it up into bits small enough to fit on the back of my ute/ in my trailer.I borrowed an axe from work and took to it after work today. I chopped the roof off, and then cut it into four quarters. Unfortunatly when I rolled the front half over to cut it down the middle, I didn't think about the sterring column, which I haven't bothered removing. The result was a nice pool of gear oil in the driveway. I hate gear oil, it smells BAD!
So if any of you are dismembering a wreck bear in mind the oil.
Do any of you know any good tricks for removing gear oil from concrete driveways?

pour some petrol on it and sweep it into it, then get some sawdust onto it. it should lift it all

Simply Green concintrate which you can buy from Repco or Harware stores works well. just spray on and scrub and then hose off.

Get a ew bottles of engine cleaner like Prepsol, clean green, etc.
Easily available and cheap.
Oh and dont forget the broom, a hard bristled one.

Or try an orange/lemon based cleaner, works a treat on oil.

and yet petrol is the cheapest option per litre when you need it and the car already has it in there
