Can i rack someone elses brain because mine is hurting, I want to use 240z or 260z struts with stanza/sunny control arms, stanza steering arms and castor rods, 120y sway bar adjustable spring perch, 300zx vented discs and toyota 4 piston calipers, 240z rear finned Drums. 280zx master cylinder & proportion valve. All with braided lines.
Do think this would work, would i need cut the strut down at all because of ride height issues, I am going to use 13 or 14in wheels, what shocks would be recommended, thinking bilstein or tokico, if they make shocks suitable for these struts??? Will 280zx master cylinder be good enough?

240/260Z struts stub angles are wrong for this conversion. You will have heaps of positive camber.

Z struts won't bolt to sunny arms. ZX strut will. Z struts brakes are way too big for 13s but 14s fit.
Didn't know about the stub angle- that's interesting.
Feral do you know about the others that people use and which struts have the best angles?

I havent measured ZX stub angles.

I will try and find a pic to post showing stock 7 degree angle used by most Datto struts

sorry to take you on a tangent...but the question begs.

why not use stanza struts or 120Y struts? i'm not sure if they're compatible with your 300ZX rotors though, but a bearing measure on the garage floor will tell you soon enough.

with the bearing question, if you use the later stanza strut then the bearings should be the same as the 300zx rotors as both use the holden AB type bearings, so in that respect they should work together. i have just finished my forth conversion to stanza struts but they have to be 1980 or later otherwise your bearing type will be too small for zx rotor. with the strut you will need either sunny or stanza lower arms, as these will have larger ball joints and the correct seat for the strut base. also radius rods from the sunny. i acctually modded stanza ones but had to shave about an inch/ inch and half from behind washer to get caster right. but sunny needs no mods.
