I got myself a 1200 GX bonnet today. I think Ive seen a pic of one that a nz guy owns (can rember who) but Id never seen one till now. It has a bit of rust but is fixable, $100 is a fare price concidering the rearity of it.

Yep they are rare now. In 20 plus years of Datsun mania I have come across 3. I sold one to Datman (Carl) in Palmy last year. I have a orange one for my GX and another one painted satin black to give it a different look. $100 is a good price. By the way I see your chasing an airbox on trademe...from the description it sounds like a very rare 1200 SSS one. Grab it if you can !!!
edit I see it is not you Quinn my mistake !!!

hey what else did the gx come with? was it a coupe or a sedan? The reason i ask is the guy i got the bonnet off had a coupe race car (VERY rough) but he lifted the cover and im sure I saw 4 round holes where the normal rear lights go. Did the gx come as a coupe with different rear lights like the 120y gx? if so I can give the details of the guy or ring him if anyone is interested.

The GX came as a sedan and coupe. The coupe used the same tail lights as all the other s. Except the back panel between the taillights was fitted with a wrinkle finish black plastic panel. The dashboard guage surround has square holes instead of the coupes round ones. I would be interested in the dash surround if he has one. Also it may have a Japanese text build plate on the bulkhead. What is the owner doing with the rest of the car??
