still reckon you ute guys should mount a box where the little parcel shelf normally is in a coupe (under the glove-box, seems ideal to me

save the money and dont buy a sub and an amp. buy a really good set of splits, they will porduce enough bass to satisfy a ute, one of my friends has a mini and hes got a set of 3way 6 inch sony xplod speakers up the back, very budgert speakers ($100) and they provide more than enough b ass for a small car.

...but the extra bass from a sub is unbelievable. I ran 4 way 6x9s on their lonesome in my coupe for a while and was so pleased with them that I flagged my plans for a sub. I ended up getting the sub and the bass it produces puts the 6x9s bass to shame. But in a small car or cab space the 6x9s still go hard, especially with an amp!!

yeah i kept all the stuff i had in my last ute which was an Alpine headunit running through a Rockford Fosgate amp into 6 1/2 inch MB Quart splits. but under my bed from the car i had before my last ute is a Cerwin Vega 12 inch sub and a Sherwood electronic crossover network. I have now resigned myself to the fact that i will be driving a datto 1200 ute for the rest of my life so i need to incorporate what i already have into one of em. I recon i will cut the back of the cabin because a 12 inch wont fit anywhere in the cabin without being ugly and im not really looking for big horses out of this ute. thanks for the input guys.
