Hi, i cant upload an avatar because it says mime exception. whats that!? its within the right dimensions and the right size limit

yeah i did that before i posted this. have you done a search on mime exception? it doesnt help much. 1. size of file. i already knew that 2. pixel size. i already knew that too 3. file type. i didnt know that but i changed it and it still didnt work.
more help needed

I fin staying within size of pixels by about 5 and size limit about 4-5 smaller usually helps... Save as jpeg too... Hope this helps.

Yeah i have had problems with mine as well. I can upload it fine, but when i restart my comp. and log back on it appears as a red cross. Why is this happening? My avatra loads fine but doesnt stay there.

That won't fix it. If you take, say a .tif file and rename it to a .jpg, it won't make any real difference. It's still a TIFF file, hence the "MIME exception" message you see (MIME is concerned with the file type -- what's in the file -- not necessarily the file extension).
Also, if you didn't see a file extension, then you're just adding to the name, not the extension. To view extensions: 1. Open My Computer 2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options 3. On the View tab, clear the box "hide file extensions". Click OK. Now you'll see the complete file name
