Hey there all,
I've been reading some of the threads on here on the A14 motor. So far i've found them to be more than helpfull, so thanks for that.
Basically, i'll give you a quick insite as to what i'm doing.
I'm restoring, from scratch, an LJ80 Suzuki 4x4. I payed $500 for the complete car, but the people that owned it before me advised that the engine was cooked. The motor is a A14, i've since had it all machined etc and put it back together. It wasn't cooked at all, the person that did the head up before I got to it didnt' machine it straight, but since then everything has been rectified.
I was originally going to run twin SU's on it, but i'm now toying with the idea of an SC12 charger. I've read your information about injecting the A14, but unfortunately every wrecker I've called so far have never heard of the injected version of the A14, and hence dont' have any of the parts. I've decided to continue anyway and just build the injection from scratch as well.
Here is the list of what i'm planning so far, that i'd really apreciate you guys to have a look at and make any changes you think would benifit me more.
A14 Motor GX oval port head(shaved to true up) Mild cam (not sure of grind) Standard bottom end, desk shaved 10thou
Injection Custom intake manifold(much like the one shown on here that goes back across the top of the motor CA18 injectors CA18 Thottle Body(including TBS) E15 Dizzy or standard A14(not sure yet) Microtech LT4 fuel only ECU
After i've got the motor running with the injection, then add the SC12 into the equation.
Also, i'd like add that the LJ80 standard had a 800cc 42hp motor, and weighs only about 750kg.
Any suggestion would be greatly apreciated, also if anyone has anything that i'm chasing for sale, please, let me know
