Hey Feral!

I've been thinking alot about the figures you suggested - 8.2 dyanmic c/r for a dissy a15 engine.

It sounds like it comes from your personal experience - right?? Also, I calculate the dynamic c/r of a bog standard a15 to be 7.7:1. This surprised me as 8.2 is not much higher than 7.7.

I was then just wondering if the 8.2 figure you mentioned might have been a figure for standard 87 octane fuel instead of the 98 octance BP ultimate or similar fuel I intend to run.

Datoman_1000:
Have you run your engine yet?
We ran ours on the weekend and it burst into life on race fuel. Havn't tried anything else yet. We only drive it up and down a short drive so far but I will keep you posted.
Carbies need tuning as it struggles to idle at 1200rpm. Otherwise ok.

Datoman! Check your email. I've just sent you the program (is excel file). Change the blue figures only - as the rest are formulas.

Curious to know what you went for with chamber volume and gasket crush.

I have run the car on a dyno when tuning but not for any real power figures yet. I'd like to hear your guestimate.

I have some more pics of the car complet going up in the next few days too

Datoman_1000, I've visited your website - top stuff!

I've just run a quick check to see how similar our dynamic c/r's are.
I calculate mine as:
static 14.1:1, 55/85 cam, dynamic 9.15:1
and yours as:
static 12.6:1, 40/76 cam, dynamic 9.09:1

So despite being quite different in setup, they achieve almost exactly the same dynamic c/r.

I can send you what desktop dyno predicts your power & torque figures to be if you would like to see them. (read ferel's last post for his comments on accuracy).

Datoman_1000, It would be great to hear how she goes!! And the fuel info would be a massive help, because if I can run 100+ octane fuel It may save me the expense + hassel of pistons and rings!
Daniel.
