i have an 84 model and it has 'NISSAN' on the tailgate but that is just a sticker. not shaw if thats standard on late model utes

I have only ever seen the decal too, but what about a quality airbrush job. That could look spectacular.

This could be done easily with careful masking and a high quaility filler primer for much less $$.

why not just cut the datsun symbol off the panel of a 720 or the like and have it welded onto a 1200 one? smooth it and paint over would look great.
