Well how about that. After a long wait, I'm finally getting them, and I'm happy about that!

I'll get some photos in the next couple of days. Hopefully I'll get the chance to buy tyres too in this time, and we'll see my car looking as it was meant to be... riding on 4 nice wheels.

To save the questions, I'm running:
Panasport FS:
Front: 15x6 (ET21 offset) 4x114.3
Rear: 15x7 (ET21 offset) 4x114.3

Charcoal centres and polished lip.

Tomorrow night can't come quick enough.

I've got the next 5 days off to try and get stuff done. My registration for the '05 datnats, and accomodation reservations are in!

The engine bay wiring is almost done, I'm modernising my wiring to be similar to late model cars. Relays for ignition and accessories 12v, it's heaps of work. I know every inch of wire in my car intimately, and have had to cut apart old relay connectors from a pintara loom, to be fitted to my loom. It's like wiring renovation. Heaps of hours of work (at least 100 hrs real work, but closer to 300 hours including design time).

Jeff's 510 SSS Coupe is coming along nicely. He should be running at the nats, but he's still in the USA for work. So he'll be keen to get back onto things after this weekend.

Ok, my 5 day update, I got about 4 days work in..I'm feeling stuffed, but I got some things done.

Some photos at bottom of page

Some more photos

Anyway, the damn Autronic loom that was supplied with my SMC has only one ignition output wired up, it's missing the ign4 output for the tacho, and is all-round a pain in the ass to install. Being forced to look at pictures of engines with distributors, and assuming the user is running a MDIS-4 or similar highvoltage ignition system. Sorry to have a whinge here, but I would NEVER recommend anyone try and install an Autronic on their own, if they aren't prepared to make guesses on so much of the install due to the terrible documentation.

I've got a list of about 15 questions for the Autronic distributor for the morning..

Good stuff chris
Im hearing you with the Autronic just got all mine sorted ended up going for a dis4 MSD unit she cranks nicley. As for your 4 ign output the drivers are there for it you just have to use injector 5,6,7 wires to wire into your ecu for ign2,3,4. Pain in the ass but im sure your capable. As for the tacho output you can buy and adapter from Autronic!! or if you use a CDI they come with tacho output. There are 3 to choose from M&W have a 4 channel cdi as do Autronic R500 or Dis4 MSD I went for MSD as Im runnign out of funds LOL (its cheeper) around $600 The M&W around $800 and Autronic around $850. Another thing to think of with teh CDI is the factory coils will die as they are worked pretty hard. so you will have to go either 4 new Bosh coils and leads or spitfire (bolt up like factory) around $600.
Give me a buzz if you want any other info.
Cheers Andrew

Thanks man, that makes sense. I've got the dwell board in, allowing me get a tacho output on IGN 4.

So I need to wire it up to INJ7 ..Ahh. This should be documented..dodgey, says I.

I'm doing a wasted spark with a 2 output Bosch Igniter, easy to wire up...if you know where

I'm pretty confortable with the wiring, so going a MSD or other CDI will be a longer term investment.

I sat down and roughly added up the bills, I've got about $4000 in expenses to go. Already spent $23000. So man..this ain't a cheap exercise.

You've been most helpful. As always

Cheers,
Chris
