Who cares an engine went bang. No one said anything about a competition, or blowing up a car besides you. Like it was stated, chances are it would of been crushed anyway. Now atleast there is a car in the bush or where ever for someone still to pull to bits for parts.

i don't see what all the fuss is about??? who really cares? a guy had a crap old car, you could get it towed away to a wrecker or you could do a few harmless experiments to it. some may not choose to put the effort into the latter but how is this a bad thing to do, its not a collectors item and doesn't sound like it was in concourse condition. i'm not overly impressed by it, but it is interesting, i'm certainly not gonna start winging how irresponsible it is!

Whilst I dont agree with killing cars,(used to have a 1600 escort, great car), at least you could have made a video for us.

Bugger i could have done with that block! But i know that blowing up cars is wicked fun! my d1000 wagon often empties it's oil into the engine bay when the crank knock's the dip stick out, and it still runs (mind you it nearly died on the way to Mannum).

As crap as Escorts are (i should know i have 2) they were the best the brits could do to compete against such wonderful vehicles as the Datsun 1000, which had carpet, heater and Radio standard, whereas the escort cost 80pounds more and you had to option up another 85 pounds to gat to the same basic standard of the Datsun!

Alos we musn't forget the rally success that the Escort's had in their hey day.

mikali. I come across your msgs often on various posts and often you are causing controversey as if you thrive off it. And experiemnting on a car and its durability is to me in a completely different category to killing cats on tv and or burning them, absolutley nothing. You seem rather concerned for vulnerable cars and their engines so i dont mind if you report me to the N.A.V.C (national agency for vulnerable cars) claiming that i have committed destroyialescorty cruelty.

Didnt say that YOU were arguing, i said that im sure you would like ME to argue with you further. Thought id clarify that. Also thought id clarify the fact that laughter pills dont work.
