good to see so many 1200's on the track. If... I mean when... I get an engine of some description back in mine, I might have to make another trip interstate. I'd love to run OP GP or Eastern Creek

Got to chuckle at Olboy's comment
How does anyone go against Chris's coupe ?? How does HE go against Chris's coupe ?? It is the 1200 benchmark and runs times we all hope for - maybe one day ....... Cheers

any more details about Chris' coupe? engine, box, brakes, suspension. How much faster is it in lap times?
what tyres do you guys run? I've been using the Yokohama A032R because I've always wanted to go circuit racing and figured I may as well get sorted on the control tyre for IPRA.

Chris's coupe is a closely guarded secret. All I know about it that it has a well sorted A15 [closer to 1600cc, maybe more chuckle chuckle] injected [home made], 4.4:1 diff and a driver who knows his machine. The brakes appear to be std Stanza rotors with girlock calipers. The car might not look much, but it has some awsome straight line speed, not to mention it goes round corners as well.
I managed to line up against chris for one run, off the start I intially had him, as i'm changing to second,~7600rpm, I can here his engine hit rev limiter [atleast in the 8000 - 9000 rpm]. chris pulls second and the car just pulls away. lap times for OP sth circuit. My fastest was a 55.14 sec R-Fast was 54.93sec [look out R-fast i'm catching up] and Chris is 52. something, he is a clear 2.? seconds quicker Me thinks i need some more grunt, I happy with the grip of my car, In the dry I had the thing on two wheels [although not desirable, it wouldn't oversteer, dont have an understeer prob either]. Its time for an A15, with all the usual go fast bits Cant wait for the next round on the OP GP circuit, finally might get a chance to pull 5th and casually drive past R-Fast [that man, never makes it easy to pass ]. Before some serious braking..... I just might have him in that department. As for tyres, Ive tried several types. My usual is on Falken RSV-04 in 195/55/15 semi slicks, excellent grip and $150 each, top value i say, road legal as well. I've tried slicks, Dunlop Formula R 185/580/15 . great tyre, but not enough heat generated in just 1 warm up lap and 2 flying laps. next time I want to try some AO32R I picked up in 185/60/14. R-fast runs AO32R and swears by them. I think Chris runs Toyo Proxies from memory. Benny You can view topic.
