Hi Guys,
Nice to see a few locals on here from Launceston! I've seen the cars you guys have mentioned (green 120Y) very nice

Its been a while since I've been on the site, (been busy finishing off the ute). Also bought a little 120Y sedan to get to work and back while the ute is off the road( 2 owner Auto ) very neat and tidy........I just put the old wheels of my ute on it to take the grandma look away from it though!

Would be good to organise some sort of Datto meet up here as there are quite a few nice ones getting around and no doubt everyone has some parts that might be of help to someone else.
Wait till the ute is finished first though

Cheers.

hello buff.
I'm the guy with the green 120y coupe.
It is all original paint, chrome and interior
The only thing its had is a polish.
I am a member of the vintage car club of tas, and so is my brother with his mustard colour ke20 corolla, we are the only jap cars in this northern section, as most are pommie cars, and a lot of the members are older people.
But its good when we get to show of our cars, especially the datto, as it draws a lot of attention and most people can relate to this era of car.

I only drive it on weekends though, and i drive another 120y coupe to work, that one is white and in also very good condition.
Do you know Beechy? he has a CA18DET white 1200 ute which is nice, there are a few 1200 utes going round here.
Anyway thats a great idea about the datto meet, as there is a need for a older jap car club here in tas,it should strike a lot of interest.
ok, maybe i will see your ute soon cruising the town, seeyou later, nice chatting to you.

I'm keen to get something off the ground even if it's an informal gathering...
There are plenty of places to do something.

Yes finally, us tassie bums might get our act together and organise a meet!! There supposedly already is a meet of P510's (1600's) in Launnie or Hobart Uni, thats just rumors tho...

The good 1200 utes round town are, yes beachyes white 1200 (still got some painting to do yes? a bit of primer on the side last time i saw it) umm Dat16's blue uteurs is tops! Err Barrys white ute, havent seen that for ages, some guy has a nice light blue 1200 with sidepipe and stock A12 and thats all ive seen...

The sedans ive seen are, a pretty dodgy stock one in my street, and another mustard 1200 sedan in kings medows..... Ive only seen 1 coupe and it was dark blue.

I reckon if we were going to have a meet, carparks, parks, recreation areas - these are all great areas to have meets and clubs....WHat you guys think? My sunny wagon will be out most probably 1 month so thats when i can bring the beast out!!!

Dave
