The torque figure I thought was wierd too. I assume it must just be how its measured or something because datman55 was high to. Cant possibly see how a tiny 1.8/2.0l can make those sort of torque figures. Thats big cube v8 territory.

Matt was that 170kw at the wheels with stock injectors??The best mine ever made with stock injectors 370cc was just over 200hp or 150kw and 190kw with 460cc.
I drove the 1200 on the road for the first time this week (traders plates) it goes very well was only running 10psi though as it hadnt reached above 60 degrees!!! bloody computers LOL.
Its all finished now did the wheel alignment and tailshaft loop. only have the Video camera braket to make. Next weekend she's all go at bathurst.
As for the torque its only tractive effort on the dyno not really engine torque it would be very unlikley for a 4cyl to make 600 ft lbs ive seen a L20 stoker 2.4 make 750 tractive effort it was a grunt box.

thats what the dyno read out 599 ftp of torque.
Even the guy tuning the car said the motor is a freak and he couldnt believe the torque it was making it goes back on next week to recieve 1 bar of boost so we will see wat that makes then.
I just went for a drive down the hwy and a XR6 Turbo was reving me up for a run asking me wats in it and sh*t i reaplied with A15 with suck thru turbo setup cruising at 60kph we both droped down to 3rd and the ute just pulled 2 car lenghts on him just thru 3rd gear. i dont think he believed me then bout the A15

599 lb/ft of torque is definitely dreaming... you'd have about twice the torque of any average production V8 on the market, with only 1.8 liters.

I don't doubt it makes good power. If not, great power. Enough to break an axle The torque figure just doesn't make sense. Either way, I'm happy for you and your results and I hope you don't end up selling it. What do you use to polish by the way?
