Thanks people its been a good respone so far. Now all I need to do is get it out into the main stream.

I am in the process of letting some of the car clubs know about the group and am going to see if I can put a few flyers around anywhere. (Autobarn, supercheap etc).

the more people that join the better the info and knowledge of parts around the state. plus if any one is wishing to sell/buy car/s we will know where to find them.

Good luck with your group as it could be just what you need.
There was an attempt at a Datsun site in Canberra i think, [turbodatto??] but it looks to have folded due to a lack of interest there.

Keep our old 'Datsuns alive in good old Van Diemans Land. Come to think of it, whatever happened to "Luv_my_68_wagon_1000". Hes a Tasmanian & another possible candidate for your group.

edit... I finally got Ruo's site name right.

hi wombat racing
I think thats a great idea, as I would love to meet other tassie datto owners and talk about datsuns, and where to find parts and hard to find bits.
I own 2 120y coupe's in launceston which are both in immaculate condition.
Anyway hope to chat soon.

GO THE DATTO!

Sorry, fair enough. It must be hard being a 100/120A (Cherry) owner. There are only a few about.

Good luck with your group.

The group is for all Datsun owners not just a certain model types.

Im not trying to steal members or anything I have just found it can be hard to find or track down parts or cars in Tasmaina.

I dont know of many 100A owners in Australia and until recently thought I was the only owner in Tassie. (found another owner down in the south). If there was a group like the one Im setting up Maybe I would have know earlier.(I now own that car also).

Why can't you do all of that here? Yahoo is pretty crappy in many ways. This group started at Yahoo in 1998. And I'm really happy that we don't need to go there anymore.

Yahoo's way of dealing with us there when they converted to yahoo groups, was just horrible. I vowed to never login to another yahoo site ever... But I like Yahoo Japan auctions unfortunately (no japan ebay), so I limit my yahoo interaction to that.

So there you go.

Chris

I'm from Sydney, but I'd be happy to plan to come on down for a good cruise or carshow in tassie.
