here are the rules for my race catagory

Production car type engines. Two valve with pushrods 1300cc + 10% overbore
(maximum = 1430cc).

The catagory usually has cars pumping around 160+hp but to be competivie you need anywere from 170 onwards

So what a series motor do you guys reccomend.
(note) you can do what ever you want without turboing. so you can make a hybrid motor. Any help is welcome so i look forward to your replys

Cheers

Going by those rules.
A13 if you can find one,
or A12 are your only A series options

After speaking to some people in the know they said that you can have a 1400cc motor. So would i be right in saying an A14 would be the go, or a A12 bored and stroked pretty close to 1400cc?

Cheers

Looks like the A14 will be the GO. These are very good engines & will fit within your capacity requirements. Building an A12/1400cc engine will not be an advantage in your case.

5K might not be enough

cams (Wade)
pistons (ACL) I used Mazda ones.
crank (freshen up orig)
dry sump gear ( only in US. http://dsr.racer.net/docs/Tholen_Parts_Catalog.doc )( http://dsr.racer.net/docs/TDC_98_retail_prices.doc ) Took 12 mths to finally get it here though.
roller rockers (yella terra)
pushrods (crow cams)
bearings (ACL)
valves and springs (ACL)
rods (refurbish orig)

Have a look at my A14/15 stuff...... see if that helps

Roller rockers,... Yella Terra
Crank, you will be trying very hard if you can break the stock one.
Pushrods,... Crow? They will need to be custom made.
Rods,... again, the stock rods are a great core for race rods.
Cams. Tighe & Wade are good sources to start with.

Have a look at a website called pitroad.

By the looks of it the prices they are on the high side but it should give you some good ideas and for dry sump gear I'd try ARE in the states.

That would make me think you could use a original block upto 1300cc with maximum internal increasement by 10% equaling 1430cc max.
But if you have been told this isnt the case, thats even better I guess
