Definately. A lot of hard work I reckon. I am interested to see where the distributor will go- punching thhrough the firewall..... or set up with a computer and crank angle sensor? If you ran the original camshaft as well (just to drive the dizzy) there's not much chance of getting it underneath the inlet manifold.

Where are you gonna find a RWD gearbox for it?
If Feral is successful then with this head on an a-series you wont need to run pollution gear, computer, cat converter and the rest. Errol likes carbs like many of us here who love dinasour tech and who like to make the "A" ever-lasting and ever-youthful. Also whats wrong with a challenge if someone wants to try it?

Not to be a party pooper, but why not mod the g16de to run rwd because a G16 bottom end can't handle the punishment like an A series bottom end can.

Its still just another factory engine, even if it is successfully turned around. A fertile mind like this should be nourished with possible solutions to the many problems, & not beset with questions like "why bother" Who cares why,..... just do it.

i think another reason for the twin cam a series over a g16de is that the a series could be used in classes where racers must use a series engines, in such races the datsuns would then be more than on par with such cars of their class such as escorts etc.....

Okay, there are justifiable reasons for doing this, especially in Oz, but is there any evidence that a GA16DE bottom end is any weaker than an A-Series?
As for tranny, there's got to be a bellhousing that will swap out. Due to the fact I'm not restricted to keep my A-Series, I'd be just as impressed if somebody made the GA16DE work.

I would be one of those interested in a twin cam head for an A-series...for vintage I can run almost any cylinder head but have to use the A series engine.
