Good stuff.

Was it like " Ha ha your car had no engine"
Man they are a pain. Yet you could go in there with a scrap piece of paper stating " Joe sold John a 1200 Chassis # 124235555 for $1 on 1/1/81" with no personal ID for who Joe is and aslong as your name is John everything would be sweet.
Thats the RTA for you.

I paid for my rego today, and picked up my number plates from the registry (custom plates).

They hassled me a lot about the car not having an engine in it from when I bought it. They also hassled me about where I got the engine from for the car. I had to sign a declaration for both explaining how I came by the car and engine.

But... It's now mine to drive on the street!

I'll have to work hard on Saturday to finish off the brakes (bleed 'em) and fix my leaky heater unit (typical). Then I can blast up and down the street for a bit to set my rear suspension up.

Last weekend, we made a short shifter (modified pivot points), made an adjustable section on the panhard rod to correct rear axle alignment, remade the brake lines in the engine bay using new fittings, rebuilt the clutch slave cylinder, replaced the timing belt tensioner bearings on engine.

So there you go.. the project can be almost signed off as being finished!

Cheers,
Chris
