i dont mean to be rude, but learn how to use use the f**king scoll on your mouse and look down

i have already stated that my engine is not capable of exceeding 9000 rpm let alone 8000 it was mearly a fault in the tacho, which i have alread realised and i take it some people havent and continue to ramble s**t about me atempting to destroy my motor. ALTHOUGH, as it seems , some of you may seem to find it hard to believe that i am not stupid enough to "free rev" my motor to 9000rpm n hold it there and wait paitiently for one of the pistons to shoot thru the head, i mearly reved the engine, instantaneously, to roughly what sounded like 5000rpm, which is quite safe to do so, which enabled me to verify if the tappets needed furthur adjustment, which was when i found that the tacho was reading more than it should

however, this forum is designated to exchange relevent information and knowledge on a certain topic matter and not that of blowing hot steam out of your over inflated head, and for the record, if this topic dosent seem relevent then why did you post your opion

Have a look on the back of the taco you might find a switch saying 4 6 8 that means you put it on 4 for an a series or if your still confused count the spark plugs.

at full throtle, the tacho reads about 9000rpm but my tacho only goes up to 8000. Before installing the new cam it only reved out to 7000rpm.

it sounded like you do this as a matter of course, like its some measure of engine performance or capability? Its pointless - it achieves and proves nothing. And certainly isn't useful for checking valve clearance.

btw, what ended up being the problem with fitting the rockers after you installed the cam?

well actually a performance cam should change the characteristics of the rpm curve by increasing the peak engine performace/ power and the capability beaing its max rpm. if i had a dyno handy i would have some data that i could work off, but i dont

loose tappets become noisy at increased rpm, too tight and you will lose compresion, i slowly tightend them until they made no noise

and yes, the pushrods that i got were infact a14 pushrods as the guy i purchased them from thought that i had an a14 because of my head and said that they WERE a12 pushrods. But the guy he brought them from told him that a12 pushrods were hydrolic and said that they are all the same lenght, whith the right ones in place they where approximatly 15mm shorter

10 minutes to get oil back in to the oil galleries? Is that right? I find that pretty hard to believe...but I don't know much about the mighty A series engines. Couldn't you just use some pre-assembly lube?

The occassional rev to 5,000....well I guess that's better than "9,000"....and I heard what you said re: tacho reading incorrect, I just don't see the need for free reving like that......but that's just my oppinion.

Good luck with it all......hope you get the bugs sorted out.
