well where getting a lot of different number's aren't we it's hard to know which one's are right.
so has any one ever had there car weighed by a motorsport body like cams? i would trust that to be right.

CAMS don't weigh your car. There are not many categories with minimum weights, and apart from level 1 categories like V8 Supercars, even if you race in a weight restricted class the only time CAMS will give a rats what your car weighs is if a protest is lodged on those grounds. This rarely happens as its quite expensive for a competitor to protest.
As for fair trading legislation - it's a reknowned toothless tiger. I see it also covers servos, and at certain servos I can regularly fit over 67l of fuel into my 65l tank, and I reckon I still had a few litres in there at the time. It was one of those servos offering 4c per litre discount deals, coincidently. I never bother with those 'discounts' any more, and fill up at a servo that seems more accurate - takes a little over 60l to fill it up most times when I'm close to empty. Just because they are checked once every year or two doesn't mean they are accurate. I also notice fair trading didn't mention what the acceptable margin for error is either, or to what accuracy they measure or what penalties apply to operators of inaccurate equipment. call me a cynic...

at my local tip, wine weighed in at 840kg with me in it (75kg) and half a tank of fuel. so it would have been around 720kg.
no spare, crx seats and the trusty a14.

thought i might dig this thread up...
just had my ute wieghed again post engine conversion..
weight is now 820kg.. 12a rotary engine, Rx7 5speed and still factory 1200 diff...
so its only gained 40kgs during the conversion which i was happy about.. was expect a bit more...
lets not forget the amount of fuel in the car is a large variable as well...
and i agree... the wheels most people are running are generally HEAPS heavier than the factory 12's

720 kg 400 front 320 rear
kb10, a14, twin SUs, 2 in system, et pulsar wheels, 12 plate battery, race seats and harnesses,3/4 tank of fuel.
i thought that was overweight but i thought that they were in the low 600s to begin with
see what happens with the various conversions going on now.
hoping for under 700, reckon i took 5 kg off the crank!!! well maybe 1
