I find lately that I'm burning alot more gas than I'm accustomed to. A mechanic checked out my carburetor and told me that my float needs adjusting. Well I believe that I can do that myself rather than paying a mechanic to do it, plus once I get it the first time I can do it again. My question is does the float having the wrong adjustment cause the engine to burn more gas and if so how can I adjust it?

it's quite easy you just have to bend the stopper? not sure what's it called I cant remember.

after that check you idle mixture adjustment if that doesnt solve your problem.
