after aquiring a trailer and getting the standard leaf springs back on i headed off to heathcote this morning only to make it about half an hour from my house (for a 2 hour journey) before the tow car brake down! and it was raining !

i decided to risk it and drive there anyway, if i broke anything i would just organise the trailer i already had...

anyway got there a little late and through scrutineering no worries straight on to the strip for a few tests on the street tyres. ended up with 13.5 @ 92mph... very down on power once again (datnats crowd will remember) my timing was playing funny buggers so i (with the help of a few friends) mucked around with it and went back out again. 13.4 @ 106mph. thats a bit better!

i then ran a few more times with similar results and then decided to get serious and try the little slicks out and drop the exhaust first run out i bogged of the line and ran a 13.2 but then i decided to give it some real revs in the burnout and launch. to my surprise i lifted the front left wheel off the ground (the guy behind me and a few mates spectating told me) and powered on to miss fourth gear and get a 12.6 @ 108mph.

after the days proceedings i had not yet been beaten and found myself in the final of my class (after a double break out in my last race where i broke by nearly a second!) against a consistant twin webered 1600. little did i know that this was a handicap race i launched off once again only to have my CAS plug fall off anyway.

unfortunately i did not get to improve on this but i'm keen to get down to calder park soon and finish refining my times. all this is with a stock motor running standard fuel and ignition maps (read: veeeery rich under load) and 16 psi (in the end).

it was a great day out, and i drove home after keeping it in one piece. damn those slicks are fun

thanks to ange and others who helped change tyres and bits and pieces throughout the day.
