Hey Guys,

Im about to buy a CA18 motor and box and am wanting to know how does it compare to a CA18DET??. Because I always wanted a Turbo im lookin to changing the manifold on the CA18 and adding a turbo... Would this be recommended to do or would you recommend just to buy a CA18DET???

Any comments greatly apreciated.

Thanks

go with the CA18DET as it has oil squirters in the bores so it helps reduce the heat in the cylinders plus you'd have to get the compression ratio of the CA18 dropeed for a turbo otherwise you'll blow your engine plus the ECU needs changing to suit the turbo, plus then you gotta think about putting water lines to and from the turbo as well as oil lines.

Possible but not fiesable

I hope I've helped

Cheers
Damo

it would be helpful for you to get the x-member and bolt that onto your car and a CA18det will bolt straight in.
