good news - about time something went your way!

don't take it on a cruise - drive it nice and gently straight to a dyno or drag strip!!! I'm sure I'm not the only one that's interested to see some numbers...

I too thought that this had happened to you before. Quite recently too, if memory serves. I seem to recall it resulted from an over rev during a missed shift.

If you clean the threads in both the bolts & the holes till they are sterile, then follow the loctite directions to the letter, & overtorque the flywheel bolts by about 5% you will help to keep those bolts in place.

Chris, the Boss at the local service station, overcame the problem after losing a couple of flywheels, with a custom made harmonic balancer, [see my photo album] & i will be using one on my coupe's engine. I believe that they also improve the level of smoothness in the running engine. At my age, i'm all for engines that run smooooooth while still delivering the goods.

i could see myself with the head and sump off trying to work out the problem, and not even having checked that, but cause of what you said i checked that first and thats saved me a lot of dicking around!!! cheers mate

got the motor out and the bolts were sitting a couple of threads out each,

will pick up new bolts, loc-tite em, and try to get the whole lot back in the car tomorrow, providing that was the only problem she could be back and running tomorrow

maybe another cruise in order boys?
