hey this is a question for all the CA18det powered 1200's who use a stumpy skyline box. How did you have you speedo cable so that it wouldn't snapp the internal cable???

Mine seems to have to go on a sharp curve thus rapidly wearing it, if I widen the angle it would be resting on the exhaust pipe.

is there some sort of right angle bit I could get?? OR make up???

As the main problem of this setup is that the input for the speedo cable into the box is on the passengers side of the box, therefore it must loop down low in order to get it in. but I don't want it looping down too low as I would hate to snag it on something.

anyway guys thanks for your help

regards
damo

I recommend getting a longer one, and looping it over the top of the gearbox, not under it.

I don't remember using a longer one in my original 1200/ca transplant. But I know the Bluebird ones are good, because they are 300mm longer.

Although you are right. Having a right angle bit would be great. You can get them, but they are customjobs, and certainly not under any cars at the wreckers..lately I've looked at a lot of speedo drives.

Try using a longer new cable, i have tryed using second hand ones and they keep snapping. If you give it a large radius curve and clamp it to the floor you wont have a problem.
