Rough Cost..Umm priceless

It was a lot of work. The diff was in and out about 10 times. It took 2 sets of springs, before it was close to being correct.

My old man did almost all of the rear suspension (it was his crazy idea, so I let him go with it).

For Suspension Alone:
Less than $1000 in parts. 100-150 hours labour = Don't try this at home kids My old man said "Never again" when it was done.

How's it perform under hard accelleration? It's sounding good so far.

I get a little exhaust noise (damn 3 inch piping) from it banging on things underneath. I need to secure the exhaust better. The rear suspension severly restricts exhaust clearance. The exhaust guy was a magician to make it as good as it currently is.

I'll be working on it some more tomorrow. Nice early start.. I'm having a lazy week off work.

Custom made top crossmember. That's what took all the work and thinking. It's attached to the subframe on both sides.
This is what makes it possible to engineer. There are earlier photos in the same gallery, where you can see the crossmember being made.

They are Spax adjustables. I think they cost nearly $600.

cost = pricless....

yep u got that right... if i had that sort of setup(dreaming) id never sell it.....

i was hoping u were going to say that u have another crossmember..

ur dad is a legend.....sr20det ae86

my dad won't even get in my little ute anymore... he had to clean his pants after i took him for a run....wah wah he winged like a girl and i didn,t even go over 100kmh...

Maybe u could dump the exhaust before the diff like i did..... i had a little trouble fitting a 3" past my bw too...... although im not so sure wether it's legal???? well it's not as noticibale as a sr20det... oh well another defect to the list.....

well im now 4 link crazy and won,t stop till i find out more....i u don't mind id like to have a squizzz at the plans for the crossmember....
