ok...so I've wanted this for a while but have only ever found ones waaay out of reach (ie England or Italy). I am in Taree on the Mid North Coast of NSW, just so you know.

This is what I'm after: -

- Datsun 120Y
- 2 door Saloon body (not coupe body)
- Auto (will settle for manual)
- Preferably white, but not fussed on colour

it doesn't seem too much to ask but there don't seem to be too many around......the main thing i'm after is the 2-door saloon body.

something like this

My mate has one. In Brisbane though. Previously owned by a panel beater so its straight as a die. Everthing else is stock as a rock apart from the jellybean mags. It is for sale but only casual. Meaning if the right price comes he'll take it. Looking for around the 3000 mark.

She'll be right mate, with a bit of bog nah that was a joke.

Yellow sedan was sold a few months ago, I still see it around, and wish I still had it.

good luck though in your search, 120Y's are awesome, and the 2-door is the best of them (IMO) I found a WHEELS mag from 1974 with a road test of the 120Y, cool stuff!

Im not a fan of 120y's. Dont have the sexy lines of the previous models but the 2 door sedan does look great. Much better lines than any other WHY?

I agree 120Y's have to be about the ugliest datsuns ever, look like a boat. I still reckon they're a cool car though (handling in 120Y was WAY better than 1200 ute!)

Well I can vouch for my sedan having way better handling than a 1200 ute. Driven a few 1200 utes and the ar-se is soooo light. Fun though. Just not when you want to do some serious cornering. The 120y would be the same I suspect if it too had a ute variant.

i must agree the 120Y does have great handling....i can drive it better than the new commodores...lol

reason i'm after my own datto is my mums hits vintage next year and we're going to do it up a bit (needs a little attention after 30 years...lol) and i want to have my own to work on beside it.....

i was also looking around and found the 180B coupes looked rather nice as well....so i'll add that to my option list....lol

This one is very nice

there's a 180b coupe for sale on www.datnet.org...

180B Coupe.
All original low kms

Very minor rust in lower LH rear quarter.
Suspected blown head gasket.

This car would make an excellent project.
