Crap cars?.. it's not Autosalon mate. Everyone at the Datnats was great for turning up. Good car or not. With Datsuns it's about the people, not who has the most money. And it's this same way everywhere in the world.

I hope that I've taken your comments the wrong way. If I haven't, then you may need to reconsider why you like Datsuns.

I'm not sure there's a 2006 DatNats, There's one in 2007. There talk from Maddat that there may be a small meeting including a track day in 2006 in Adelaide. Keep an eye on www.datnet.org if you want to know more.

i think you have taken my comment wrong, almost evry car there was awesome but there was a couple of cars fully rusted out with half the interior missing, and a completely stock motor, that had no reason other than being a datsun, for being there. on a whole the cars were very nice but as dodgeman said when he posted a pic of my car sitting in the car park, he said he thought my car shouldve been entered in the show. and thinking about it afterwards i thought maybe it wouldve been worth entering it even though its not all that flash ....

Next one is Winton in Vic 2007...

I dont think there is one in 2006, or at least not yet...

As for the rusty ####boxes, mine was probably one of them...

I also had another friend, he was #69 white with black bonnet (datsun 1600)... looks very rough... was lapping wakefield in 1.17 with a L20b. So if thats your "stock" car then come and bring ur turbo and beat it around the track... 1/2 the turbo 1600's were slower than him around the track, some with 2 or 3 times the hp!

The reason we had to be at the show n shine was to be scrutaniered. Anyway come along, i'm sure you'll have fun... thats the whole idea (not to win tropheys)

Have dates been released for the 2007 event? Just wondering how much people spent on getting to the last one, competing etc as I'm very interested in attending the next one?
Thanks Matty

First let me say that crapwagons rule , end of the day the joy of Datsun is good cheap fun to drive cars. The Z car was cheap and performed , the 510 was described as a poor man's beemer and the 1200 is a cheap little econobox that can be made to go like the banshee.
Ours was bought as a cheap transpo car then converted to a cheapo race car, lots of fun for not a lot of money.
I think it's neat that Datsuns are now respected and some over restored but end of day they're fun.........leave the concours stuff for the Ferrari guys.

That really pisses me off, mines better than your's, I would rather look at a as found in a farm shed for 20 yrs dato than a trailered to the show trophy, they all have carictor (i cant spell for ####) the ruffies are just as important to keep alive as the good ones, probably more so or they will dry up, 5 yrs ago your could find a dato parts car in the paper every week, try to find one now.
